Week 12 Part A: Using Business Specific Online Tools

Image
After reading Snack Nation's blog article "35 Best Online Collaboration Tools & Software Platforms For Business Teams That Are Irrefutably Awesome In 2021," I would like to share three sites from the article that stood out to me. Nectar is an employee recognition and rewards software that increases online collaboration within a business. Its feed is an efficient way for companies to recognize employees either through management or peer posts. Bonuses, awards, and challenges can also be posted through the program. Nectar connects with other tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and many global gift cards. It has a free version and a paid version that charges per active user. Public recognition and rewards are terrific motivators and certainly help with employee satisfaction and retention. FreeConferenceCall.com  is a free teleconferencing platform, with international capabilities, that has been around for 20 years. Users can teleconference via landline, mobile, or over an...

Week 1A: My Blog Theme

While my blog theme looks like something that was easily coordinated, I actually spent a lot of time on it before arriving at the finished product. I first investigated three separate Blogger themes of varying subject matter: Abstract, Home and Garden, and Celebrations. I scrolled through pictures on my phone and found a picture I had taken of some flowers. I solely chose this picture because I liked the colors of the flowers and thought it would work well for the ...

Photo by  Sotiris Karrotsakis  from  Pexels How many times have you kept a bottle cap, sticker, or label from a product you really like or just because you like the logo. That's branding at work. A brand is a business' identity. For a brand to be effective, it must authentically represent your business and all aspects of that business.  The logo featured with this post is one I designed for a business idea that I was unable to pull off. TYD stands for Trulyours Designs. I've never been good at using typography, so I drew the letters by hand. I specifically drew the letters to work in a shape that can be used as a sticker. I imported my hand drawn sketch into Adobe Illustrator and used the brush tool to create the letters for the final product. I kept my color palette simple to place emphasis on the letters. The analogous color scheme of green and blue is approachable. I use the two different shapes equally. The triangular shape can be tilted to spatially fit into var...
