Week 12 Part B: Business Specific Tools

First off, mea culpa! I did not apply my research for the 12 A blog post wholly and specifically to my chosen business. Apologies aside, I want to commend my fellow classmates for aligning their research thoughtfully with their chosen businesses. The blogs I commented on are: Sean Conti's, Andrew Estelle's, Kate Strong's, and Jinx Hu's.

The use of TikTok to reach a target audience for their business was discussed by both Sean and Andrew. This is certainly a savvy use of a platform that is currently hot to appeal to a target audience and/or video loving audiences.

Google for Business was discussed by Sean, Kate, and Jinx as a way to boost and solidify their business brand. Positive Google reviews will only help every type of business out there. Jinx also mentioned how helpful it is to have a business be located via Google Maps. I know that checking a new business' location on Maps is one of the first things I do. I frequently use Maps to look up a business' hours too.

Meet Ups was discussed by Andrew and Jinx for the in person networking connections that can be made, in addition to friendships. Some people prefer that in person connection, and getting to know you as a person may be a factor in their customer loyalty too. I find it healthy just to get out there and socialize.

Andrew also discussed placing a Weed em and Reap playlist on Spotify and Google Music. This is a fantastic idea! A friend of mine, who owned a bicycle shop, had a playlist on his website. It was just a really interesting and enjoyable mix of music he would update from time to time. I would often click on it after checking the new events on his site and let it play through. Adding a playlist link to my website is something I had not considered, but it is something I would definitely do for sheer enjoyment and interest value.

There are a plethora of platforms out there that you can use to promote your business. I would first assess which ones are essential to helping me market my business and its brand. Then, i would add one or two platforms or tools I feel comfortable with and that would help increase my customer base. I would also utilize a platform like Meet Ups or a music based one to show a little personality.
